History and Heritage
Bold action
Vision, verve and determination - were qualities that Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum displayed in abundance by believing that he could transform a section of desert into a thriving trade complex. Started in 1974 and completed in 1979, the Trade Centre Tower instantly became the heartbeat of Dubai's growing global business community.
Forward thinking
The 39-storey Trade Centre Tower no longer stands alone. The complex now includes hotels, exhibition halls and serviced apartment blocks. Truly established on the global stage, DWTC is now renowned as an international business centre offering new opportunities for multinational corporations to network, trade and grow.
Of course, over the years the Trade Centre Tower has been joined by numerous other towers alongside the Sheikh Zayed Road, but it is, just as it has always been, recognised as the pioneer of Dubai's rise to excellence as a cosmopolitan commercial centre at the crossroads of the world.
The future beckons
While we're proud to be recognised as a key player in Dubai's growth, we're more excited about the role that we will undoubtedly play in its future. As the region's leading venue for international exhibitions, conferences and events, we'll continue to forge ahead, innovate and strive to reach ever higher.
